Duluth Insulation was founded in 2023 by a team that had spent years working on homes across Duluth and the surrounding communities. What kept coming up was the same problem: older homes built in the early 1900s with little to no insulation, homeowners paying high heating bills every winter, and contractors who either did not know the local housing stock or were not willing to do the job properly.
Duluth is a city of older homes. The neighborhoods near the East Hillside, Congdon Park, and Canal Park are full of wood-frame houses built during the city's iron ore and timber boom - homes with real character, but also homes built long before modern insulation standards existed. We saw a clear need for an insulation company that understood those homes and took the work seriously.
We started small, taking on residential jobs in Duluth and nearby communities like Hermantown and Superior. Word spread. Homeowners in Proctor, Cloquet, and Two Harbors started calling. We expanded our service area as our reputation grew, and today we serve 12 cities and communities across northeastern Minnesota and northwestern Wisconsin. Every job still gets the same careful attention we started with.
